At NLdH, we recognize the importance of diversity to the long-term success of our Firm and the needs of the clients we serve. We are deeply committed to an inclusive, open and respectful culture. We recognize that "diversity" encompasses an infinite range of individual characteristics and experiences, including gender, age, race, sexual orientation, national origin, religion, political affiliation, marital status, disability, geographic background, and family relationships. Our Firm strives to employ the best and the brightest individuals. Our goal is to create a work environment in which the unique attributes, perspectives, backgrounds, skills and abilities of each individual are valued and utilized.
As part this commitment, in the last year the Firm has undertaken the following initiatives and activities:
- Actively participated in the Montgomery County Bar Association's 1L Diversity Recruiting Program and hired a "first year" Summer Associate in the firm's Pennsylvania office. Rachel Morales, a member of the Villanova Law School Class of 2011 joined NLdH as part of this program for the Summer 2009;
- Partnered with both Villanova University School of Law and Temple University School of Law in creating an annually-funded scholarship program solely aimed at the financial aid and support of a diverse first year law student. The effort at both of these highly-regarded law schools is commencing with the school year 2009-2010; and
- Undertaken a project within the firm specifically directed to career development, market and practice skills of our female attorneys. This endeavor is being spearheaded by our female attorneys Claudia McCarron, Esquire and Fran Semaya, Esquire.
