September 7, 2011, Blue Bell, PA - Kim Hollaender and Michael J. Kurtis, partners with Nelson Levine de Luca & Hamilton (NLdH), will be featured speakers at the Reinsurance Association of America seminar, "Reinsurance Claims and Loss Management -- Taking it to the Next Level," September 14 - 15 in New York City. Their program, "Hydraulic Fracking: The Debate Over Mining Marcellus Shale," will focus on the environmental impacts and the potential property and casualty exposures that fracking presents for insurers.
As both a former environmental prosecutor for the City of Philadelphia and a former environmental engineer, Mr. Hollaender is uniquely experienced in the area of environmental litigation and represents clients in mass toxic tort cases in numerous jurisdictions. He also concentrates his practice on insurance coverage matters and complex insurance defense. Mr. Hollaender is a graduate of Widener University School of Law, The University of Arizona, and Drexel University, where he received his M.S. in Environmental Science and Engineering.
Mr. Kurtis concentrates his practice on reinsurance matters on behalf of cedents and reinsurers, and advises clients on issues pertaining to coverage analysis, claim presentations, contractual wordings and dispute resolution. He handles reinsurance and coverage matters on an international basis, with a client base that includes the London Market. He is a graduate of Villanova University and Brooklyn Law School.
