Michael R. Nelson, Chairman and a founding partner of Nelson Levine de Luca & Hamilton (NLdH) was featured in "Philly Insurance Law Firm Has Come a Long Way in a Short Time, Winning Over Both Clients and Its Own People." The article appeared in the December 2010 issue Of Counsel: The Legal Practice and Management Report.
During the interview, Mr. Nelson discussed the firm's desire to become known in the industry for its unique insurance-focused service offering. NLdH was founded with the goal of developing something extraordinary - a law firm dedicated solely to addressing the legal and business needs of the insurance industry. Through this specialized focus, innovative approaches such as an insurance executive board, and a stable of industry leading attorney specialists, NLdH continues to strengthen its insurance industry focus and level of client service.
Mr. Nelson discussed how the firm is preparing for changes resulting from the health care insurance reform. Peg Ising, a former Deputy Commissioner for the Ohio Department of Insurance, has "been doing a state-by-state analysis on how insurance companies and, by virtues of the regulations, how departments are going to fit into this new national health care policy."
Founded in 2000, NLdH has grown to nearly 60 attorneys in New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Ohio. "We see this growth as necessary to be where our clients need us to be," Mr. Nelson said.
