Peg Ising provides regulatory consulting services to the firm's Regulatory Practice group.
Before joining NLdH, Ms. Ising was the Deputy Director of Regulatory Compliance and Consumer Protection for the Ohio Department of Insurance and oversaw several divisions including Market Regulation, Product Regulation, Consumer Services, Fraud & Enforcement, and Agent Licensing. She was with the department for almost 25 years and, at various times, managed the Department's Life and Health and Property and Casualty Divisions. Ms. Ising often provided input on legislative initiatives, drafted rules and bulletins and testified before the Ohio General Assembly on proposed insurance legislation.
As a regulator, Ms. Ising was active on many committees including the Health Insurance and Managed Care (B) Committee, the Health Regulatory Framework (B) Task Force, Market Conduct Annual Statement Working Group, the Life and Annuities (A) Committee, the Property and Casualty (C) Committee, and many other committees and working groups. She chaired the Statistical Task Force, Operational Efficiencies Working Group and the Speed to Market Task Force. Beginning in 2000, she was extensively involved in the development and implementation of the NAIC's Speed to Market plan, which includes the NAIC's System for Electronic Rate and Form Filings (SERFF). She was elected to the SERFF Board of Directors and is a past chairperson. Before joining the Department, Ms. Ising was employed in the insurance industry.
